About

The hospital grew around a small hospital that was founded by Heidar Alikhan Ezzolmoulouk in 1907. It was a charity hospital generating revenue from the net earnings of a village near Shiraz. In 1943, supported by Ali Asghar Hekmat, Shiraz municipality built a well-equipped hospital on the spot and named it Saadi Hospital which was known as the 100-bedded hospital. In 1945, Behdari Medical Auxiliary Training School was ratified by the government to govern Saadi Hospital which turned into a teaching facility supervised by Shiraz University’s School of Medicine in 1949. Later, the hospital’s name changed to Faghihi Hospital after SUMS orthopedic resident, Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Faghihi, who was assassinated in 1981.

 

The hospital headed by Dr. Zabihollah Ghorban inaugurated with a commitment to providing health care services within the following wards:

Faghihi Hospital as one of SUMS teaching facilities not only trains students but also provides a plethora of specialty and subspecialty health care and treatment services including specialty cancer treatment and care services as Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy Surgery and the ilk.
