Physiology is the scientific study of the normal function in living systems. A sub-discipline of biology, its focus is in how organisms, organ systems, organs, cells, and biomolecules carry out the chemical or physical functions that exist in a living system.
Physiology is a multidisciplinary field, combining Biology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics, in which a physiologist provides grounds for educational and research activities and accurate understanding of the human body’s pathological circumstances through perception of the normal function of organs and different systems of the human body. Ph.D. is the highest academic credential in this field which can lead to a degree.
