In order to be eligible to apply for SUMS Specialty/Subspecialty Elective Programs, prospective applicants shall meet the conditions below:

  • The candidate must be a student of specialty/subspecialty program.
  • Electives are designed for students who have already completed one full year of in-hospital clinical training prior to an anticipated elective.
  • The candidate should not be a graduate.
  • The candidate must be enrolled at a non-Iranian University, be an international student studying in an Iranian university, or be an Iranian student studying abroad.
  • The candidate should not have any record of academic, clinical competence, or professionalism issues

 

Language Proficiency Requirements

The applicants shall fulfill one of the following language proficiency requirements:

  • TOEFL: minimum score of 69 iBT; 525 PBT
  • IELTS: minimum band score of 5.5
  • Other evidence indicating the applicant’s English proficiency equivalent to requirements I or II above

However, an applicant who is a native speaker of English or who has received his/her previous degree from a university where English is the primary language of instruction is exempted from this requirement. Accepting an Offer

Candidates will be notified of their application results via e-mail. Offers of elective opportunities will be held open for 8 weeks to be accepted and confirmed by the admitted candidates. It is therefore substantial that the successful applicants confirm their acceptance as soon as possible via e-mail.

 

Cancellation of an Elective Attachment
